Day Eleven- Larry The Lamb Comes To Visit

Hello:)

Got up this morning at the crack of dawn to pick the veggies and herbs needed for the fish pie I was making this morning. I was back in the kitchen for 8:30am and started working on pulling everything together for a midday lunch.

Please don't eat me :(

Sorry dude, you're needed for the pie...I went on to fillet Freddie the fish above then turned him into a yummy fish pie. The mash was so creamy, it was Rachels' recipe with some fabulous butter crumbs- I couldn't take a pic as I was running massively over time- again. However, I got full marks- again. Then I made a soda bread which turned out to be brilliant.

Time for lunch- with some yummy Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding!

This afternoon demonstration was with Darina who demonstrated the various cuts of lamb.

Darina went through how to make a 'Lamb Roast with Rosemary and Garlic'. Darina made a number of holes in the lamb, called a "Rosemary Hedgehog"- which gave the lamb an amazing look and taste. It's a simple idea, it's why I really like Darinas' demostrations.

While the lamb was roasting, Darina then went onto demonstrate a; 'French Onion Tart', followed by a Pissaladière, which was amazing.

Darina went onto demonstrate "Julias' Roast Potatoes" and "Flagolet Beans With Tomato and Rosemary". Of course, no dinner would be complete without an amazing dessert "Chocolate Mousse with Almond Macaroons and Chocolat St. Emillon"- which is Darinas' favourite dessert. I can see why, it's out of this world, it really is. I took a quick pic before it was snapped up by one of the students:

I scheduled a chat with Darina regarding career opportunities this evening after demonstration- the only terms of the meeting was that I would make her a pot of tea... I'm still unsure what I want to do after the course but it was good to have a chat anyway.

Here's some more pics I took today, enjoy x
